I couldn’t believe it! I had worked for Christopher & Banks as both an assistant manager and a manager for a total of six years. Now, the store was about to close because the mall was closing. My team of workers and I had to sell, donate and ship out everything that was in the store. We only had one week to complete this task.
I was thinking about some of the events that had taken place at the mall, and all the customers and mall workers that I had the privilege of getting to know over these past six years. Then I realized that I had not sent a thank you card to two of the top people in the mall. One was the head of security and the other man was the head of the mall workers. They had both helped our store in so many ways.
I prayed and asked God to help me to write the note to both of the men and enclose a $20 bill for lunch and a Gospel tract. It was our last day of work and I knew I wouldn’t be in this area for a while. I arrived early that Friday and placed the envelope under the office door.
Later that day one of the men said thank you for the lunch for him and the other man. To be honest, I never expect a thank you, because that is not my motivation. I’m not always able to witness to people about Jesus because of my work. Yet, when I give people a note or card and place a Gospel tract inside, I feel like I have finally gotten that opportunity to share the Gospel with that person. Now I am working as an assistant manager in another Christopher & Banks, but this store is in an outside mall. I am anxious to see what God has in mind for this store.
