Waiting is one of the hardest things to do! Yet, after waiting for almost a month since my last post, I figured there must be a good reason.
I have been checking into finding a good, simple Gospel tract that I can give people. Someone suggested I write one and maybe someday I will, but I don’t believe the time is now. I decided to go to the Christian Bookstore today to find a tract. I bought some and placed them in my purse.
I decided to stop to get gas and then it was off to Walmart and maybe a movie. I pulled into the gas station and noticed the gas tank truck was refilling the tanks below the station. Boy, am I glad that is not my job. It looks very dangerous.
I pumped my gas and then the idea popped into my head. Why don’t you give the gas tank driver ten dollars for lunch and one of the new gospel tracts. Honestly, when the idea popped into my head I prayed just to make sure this is what I was supposed to do. I finished pumping the gas, got into my car, reached into my purse and got the $10 bill and a tract. I locked my car and set off to see the driver.
I walked up to him and said some comment about his job, handed him the money and the tract. I said, “This is for your lunch and please read this paper.” He replied, “No, I can’t take your money.” To which I replied, “God told me to give it to you and that’s what I am doing.” He thanked me and I began walking back to my car.
Just as I was opening the door, I heard him say, “I have to tell you this.” I turned back around and walked back to him. He told me that he had just called his wife and told her that he had forgotten his wallet and lunch at home and needed her to bring him a lunch. He said, “I can’t believe this!” I pointed to the sky and said one word, “GOD.” I shook his hand, gave him my first name and told him it was nice to meet him. His smile reached both sides of his face. His last words were, “Thank you and I will read this paper.”
WOW! God sure works in mysterious ways!
