My second $10 blessing came in the form of a donation to St. Judes. I had never heard of St. Judes back in New England where I lived. The organization our store contributed to each year was the Jimmy Fund. It was not until I arrived in Texas that I learned of St. Judes.
St. Judes was started by Danny Thomas and his daughter Marlo Thomas is now the spokeswoman for it. It helps children who have cancer and it also helps the families of those children. The parents never receive a bill and have their housing and food provided for them. Wow! what a great organization!
One of St. Judes main objectives is for the parents to focus on their children not on other things such as housing or food.
The $10 I donated could be used to pay for one third of the food for someone for a day, or for 2 special masks for the children to wear. I do not know how my $10 donation was used, but I trust this organization and know it was used to help someone.
