I have not been writing lately about how I have been spending the $10. The Corona Virus lockdown is in effect and now is the perfect time to catch up on my writing. Let me tell you the setting for this post, which will help you understand all the events. My sister and her husband were away visiting their grandchild. My brother was taking care of my mom while I was either at work or running errands.
I had just finished getting my haircut and had to get something at the neighborhood Walmart. It was misting outside, and I was thinking about something else while trying to find the best parking spot. I had to stop suddenly as I almost hit someone crossing the parking lot. The lady gave me a not-so-kind look. Of course, I pull into the parking space right opposite her. What was I to do? I popped out of my car and said I was sorry for almost hitting her. She understood and then headed back into the store.
The flower bouquets at this particular Walmart are in the front of the store. I felt led to give the woman I almost ran over some flowers. I picked up a bouquet and went off to pick up the items on my list. I checked out at self-checkout and noticed the flowers were cheaper than I had paid. I told one of the ladies, and they said I had to get into the return line for them to fix the price. Normally I would have let it go, but it would be half of what I paid. So I patiently stood in line, awaiting my turn. The girl in customer service fixed my receipt, and then it was off to find my would-be accident victim. I searched the entire store and then entered the parking lot to discover her car was gone.
What was I going to do? There was a reason for me to get those flowers. I was sure of that. I got in my car, and lo and behold, there was a donut shop in the same strip mall. Well, I think my mom would love some donuts. So I got out and went in and ordered. I asked the lady how her day was going, and she said it was slow. Well, I knew what I needed to do. I entered my car, grabbed a Gospel tract and the flowers, and returned inside. The lady was in the back when I entered, she came out, and then I handed her the flowers and tract and said, “Have a nice day!”
I arrived home with the donuts, which made my mom very happy. Sometimes God sends us on a different path than we set out on, but He ultimately knows what every person needs and when they need it. It is not for me to question; it’s exciting to see where this path will lead!
