I work in a mall, and as previously mentioned in a couple posts, my goal is to give each maintenance worker a thank you note, a ten dollar bill, and a gospel tract.
One Saturday night I was getting the trash ready to be picked up when lo and behold I saw a female maintenance worker I hadn’t seen before. I asked her if she had ever received a thank you note from me and she replied, “No.” I then asked her name and she said, “my name is Angela.”
I had already planned to give ten dollars to one of the maintenance workers who had helped me many times throughout the years. I believe he is in charge of mall maintenance.
I went home that night after meeting Angela and wrote out two thank you notes. I then placed them in envelopes along with ten dollar bills and gospel tracts. I took them to work the next morning and dropped them off in the mall office.
I never expect a thank you after I give a person money and a thank you note. Truthfully, I just try to listen to the Holy Spirit and follow His leading. It is Him, not me. I am just the conduit!
The next morning as I was walking to open the store, I saw Richie the recipient of the second letter. He smiled and said, “Thank you so much!” I replied, “You’re welcome.”
My thoughts went immediately to the gospel tract. I had not given a tract to any maintenance worker in the past because I was usually working at the time and I didn’t think it was right to give out gospel tracts on company time.
If they have not, at one time, received Christ as their personal Savior, prayerfully they will after reading the gospel tract.
